Catherine Byrne, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical assistant professor in the Sleep and Anxiety Treatment and Research Division. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Dr. Byrne completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She worked as a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, for 2.5 years before moving to Charleston, SC, with her family. Dr. Byrne has extensive experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of presenting psychological concerns. She is particularly interested in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders.
