Dr. Faisal A. Tamimi, M.D., is a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist with extensive training in Cardiovascular disease, Interventional cardiology, and Structural heart disease and interventions. He earned his MBBS/MD degree with Honors from College of Medicine, King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he grew up. He then completed a research fellowship in Pulmonary Hypertension at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts after which he joined Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA for his internship and Internal Medicine residency. He then joined Mount Sinai Heart for his General Cardiology Fellowship and later Mount Sinai Heart, Morningside in New York City for his Interventional Cardiology training, where he also served as Chief Interventional Fellow.
To further advance his expertise, he completed additional specialized training in Structural Heart Disease and Interventions at the University of California, San Francisco. His passion and advanced clinical experience include complex coronary interventions and cutting-edge structural procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Mitral and Tricuspid Valve interventions, and PFO/ASD closures.
He has contributed to numerous publications and presentations on topics in the field of Interventional Cardiology and valvular heart disease. He is fluent in English and Arabic, Dr. Tamimi enjoys running, swimming, and tennis, and is dedicated to global health initiatives including volunteer work in refugee camps and treatment of heart disease in marginalized communities.
