Leonel Aberlardo Vasquez, MD

Dr. Vasquez obtained his Medical Doctorate from West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. He completed a diagnostic residency at Allegheny General Hospital, Medical College of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, followed by fellowship training in breast imaging and breast intervention at Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and a Fellow of the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Vasquez has worked in private practice settings in Wisconsin, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky and held several administrative positions at these locations. In addition, he held faculty positions at Emory University School of Medicine, and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic, Iowa City, where he served as Vice-Chair for Clinical Operations and the Director of the Breast Imaging Division. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to MUSC and an interest in medical student and resident education.
