Dr. Michael Cotter is an Associate Professor and Director of the Endodontic Postgraduate Residency Program. He maintains a private practice in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and serves as a Major in the United States Air Force.

He is a founding member and past president of the International Academy of Endodontics, recognized for his leadership and commitment to advancing the specialty through education and clinical innovation. Dr. Cotter earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University College of Dentistry, completed a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center, and a Postgraduate Endodontic Residency at New York University College of Dentistry, where he served as Chief Resident.

His professional interests include regenerative endodontics, advanced clinical techniques, and postgraduate education.
