Dr. Sami Al Kasab is an assistant professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Al Kasab received his M.D. from Kalamoon School of Medicine in Syria. He completed his residency training in Neurology at MUSC, Vascular Neurology fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and Neuro-Endovascular Surgery fellowship at MUSC. He has clinical expertise in Stroke, brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations of the head and neck, and carotid artery disease. His research interest is in ischemic stroke related to underlying intracranial atherosclerosis. He is the principal investigator of the multicenter, international RESCUE-ICAS registry, and is the site PI of numerous NIH and industry funded clinical trials.
