Shane Scott Parmer, MD, RPVI

Shane S. Parmer, M.D. is a board certified, fellowship trained vascular surgeon providing the full spectrum of vascular care to patients at MUSC Health in Columbia, SC. Dr. Parmer prides himself in treating all aspects of care for the vascular patient, including conservative medical management, minimally invasive intervention and standard open operative techniques.

In his 17-year experience in vascular surgery he has gained expertise in treatment of aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), carotid disease, dialysis access care and venous disease. Prior to joining MUSC, Dr. Parmer practiced vascular surgery and was the Medical Director of Vascular Services and the Non-invasive Vascular Imaging Laboratory for Memorial Health System in Marietta, OH. During that time, he served in active duty for the United States Navy and was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Dr. Parmer was born and raised in Modesto, CA. He graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA and completed his general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
